Founder and CEO – The Seed January 2009-Present

  • Conceptualized and created an on-line entrepreneurial-support model which launched in October 2009. Conceived, organized and managed the first entrepreneurial-support model of its type in Denver to mentor, connect and advocate for women entrepreneurs and business owners through high-value events, training and education.

Event Strategy & Management

  • Conducted regularly scheduled hosted events to facilitate and enable local business owners to connect, learn and teach; conducted 42 events in 2007.
  • Hired a staff of 12 facilitators to meet the growing demand to offer more events; conducted over 100 events in 2008.

'Festival of Women' 2009

  • Created and planned this event over ten months; secured event sponsors, solicited exhibitors, aligned with media partners, arranged musical entertainment, coordinated with the Colorado Rapids Soccer Team for game play,  offered workshops, invited selected speakers, negotiated agreements and managed volunteers.
  • Established broad visibility for the event; secured Dick's Sporting Goods Arena as the venue and showcased Mark McIntosh, Host of "Colorado and Company", and former first lady of Colorado Dottie Lamm, as the Keynote Speakers.

THE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM OF ORANGE COUNTY ("Pretend City") - Irvine, CA                                                                      2001 - 2003
Director, Corporate Development
and Board Member

Responsible for: Serving on the Board and all committees of this non-profit start-up, soliciting in-kind donors, sponsors and philanthropic donations within a 5-year time frame to fund infrastructure development, and managing all aspects of corporate sponsor fundraising and contract negotiation for communication and milestones. Reported to Executive Director and Founder.

  • Secured over $5M in donations in two years; the project moved forward ahead of schedule and opened in 2009.
  • Met with >150 CEOs and local government officials; developed 50 partnerships for sponsorships, product donations and in-kind marketing and advertising. [Sponsorships included Ralph’s, Bank of America, Target, Boeing, M & M Mars, So. California Edison.]
  • Created and maintained an extensive database of donor corporations and individuals; seeded on-going fundraising campaigns and the two major annual fundraising events.  
  • Worked with attorneys, land acquisition agencies, interior designers and architectural firms on creating the museum structure; brought in Disney's Imagineering Team to advise on youth-friendly design.

WELLS  FARGO HOME MORTGAGE - Southern California Orange / San Diego Counties  2003-2005

Director of Local Marketing (Contract Employee)

Responsible for: Partnering with headquarters to align and adopt corporate marketing messaging to local bank operations, develop program components and marketing materials, and train the sales force. Reported to Divisional Manager.

  • Created and implemented a branded direct- to-consumer advertising and marketing campaign; results extended the program two more years: 54% increase in 'first mortgage' purchase volume, 65% increase in total Southern California area sales, 19% increase in ROI, 17% increase in referrals from other internal bank departments, 135% increase in referrals from external professional services firms and individuals serving the same markets.
  • Worked with 4 levels of management and 450 sales people in 24 branches; assessed all branch operations to produce customized branch location recommendations and incorporated the branding initiative in all branch events.
  • Worked with publication, printer and fulfillment center vendors to negotiate pricing and to structure the advertising schedule; millions of customers and prospects were targeted through brochures, flyers, rack cards and mailers.

Responsible for: Creating a new commercial lending thrift and leading the Sales and Marketing transition team for the American Savings Bank, Home Savings of America and Great Western Bank merger with WAMU. Managed 20 direct reports. Selected by Executive Management for this role.

  • Built the Commercial Sales and Marketing Department for the "income property lending" business; this small company was later sold to WAMU for close to $1B (2006).
  • Managed key client relationships (e.g. WAMU, Bank of America, Cal Fed, and City National Bank) and led all sales and sales support operations; maintained 'Broker of Record' for the firm's real estate sales.

Prior Relevant Experience:

AVP, Sales and Marketing (Commercial Lending) - Washington Mutual/American Savings Bank

  • Led the Income Property Lending Group sales team in California; managed 10 direct reports.
  • Participated on the task force to address the integration of the three acquisitions of competing banks in 2 years (Great Western, Home Savings, and WAMU); streamlined and integrated staff, processes and programs. 

Manager- Kaufman & Broad

  • Managed New Home Sales in So. California; divided the region into two areas and created a new structure.
  • Performed all AP and AR; hired, managed and trained the accounting team, set up the accounting systems.

Sales Associate - Kaufman & Broad

  • Sold >125 new homes (1995 / 1996) bringing > $1.7M in profit to the firm; New Sales Agent of the Year twice.
  • Sold > $15M in new homes for the first three years; named 'Salesperson of the Year' and placed 5th nationally.
